Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Abandoned open pits with outcrops of the Upper Carboniferous sediments of Nýřady Beds, Kladno Formation (Westphalian D). Typical development of the Mirošov Conglomerate with clasts of quartz and lydite. Also arkoses and subarkoses occur with subdued layers of siltstones, claystones and some thin coal seams. All the sediments are of terrestrial origin.
