Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Sand pit, partly active, and surrounding area. Outcrops of Neogene clayey feldspathic gravelly sands. They contain abundant moldavites (tektites) and silicified wood. Instructive examples of curent bedding. Sedimentologically interesting locality. The locality is situated in the Protected Landscape Area (Třeboňsko - the Třeboň City Area).
