Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Old quarry. Outcrop of an orthogneiss of Kutná Hora Crystalline with two pockets filled with Cretaceous sediments. The orthogneisses are cut by to pegmatite dyke with an Alpine mineral paragenesis. Cretaceous sediments are of Middle Turonian age and consist of biodetrital limestones, conglomerates and sandy limestones with abundant fossils. Stratigraphically, paleontologically and sedimentologically significant locality.
