Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Karst cave almost completely filled by Quaternary sediments. Artificial corridors were dug through these sediments which expose in unique way the achitecture of the whole sediment fill. Calcareous tufa veneer on gravelly sediments exhibit a polar magnetic orientation which means that the sediment age is greater than Lower/Middle Pleitocene. Unique locality. Provenance study proved northern source of sands (Protivanov formation of the Drahany Culmian).
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif > Moravosilesian region > Moravosilesian Palaeozoicum;
Bohemian Massif > Moravosilesian region > Moravosilesian Palaeozoicum > Pre-flash Units > Moravian karst
Stratigraphy: Devonian, Pleistocene
Subject: stratigraphy, sedimentology, petrology
Geological phenomenon: karst cave, bed
Genesis: anthropogenic (anthropogenic activity), sedimentary, aquatic (water activity)
Rock: sand, limestone
