Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Karst territory in the very centre of the Moravian Karst. Rock basement consists of Middle Devonian limestones of the Macocha Formation. Limestones are intensively karstified and thus many superficial and subterranean karst phenomena occur. Complicated system of caverns, largest in the whole Czechia. The area is registered as a National Nature Reserve of the Protected Lanbdscape Area Moravský kras - the Moravian Karst.
