Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Large abandoned quarry, partly flooded. It exposes a section with alternation of greywackes, siltstones and silty claystones. Common graded bedding in greywacke layers. This sequence belongs to the Brodek Greywackes of the Protivanov Formation (Lower Viséan, upper parts of the Lower Carboniferous). Slump structures are well developed. This locality belongs to the Protected Landscape Area Moravský kras (the Moravian Karst).
