Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Abandoned quarry with outcrops of sandstone lithofacies of the Svobodnice Fomation of the Vlára Development of the Bílé Karpaty Unit. Sediments consist of turbidite rhythms with more abundant calcareous claystones. Also occurrence of a hornblende trachyandesite as a dyke. Petrologically and stratigraphically interesting locality. The locality is situiated in the Protected Landscape Area Bílé Karpaty (the White Carpathians).
