Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Outcop represents the type locality of the Veřovice Formation (Aptian) of the Godula Development of the Silesian Unit (Outer Flysch Carpathians). The black-grey non-calcareous platty claystones are stained by limonite and jarosite. The Veřovice Formation is typical black shale facies formed under dysoxic/anoxic conditions.
