Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
An abandoned quarry in Proterozoic lydites (silicites) abraded by a Cretaceous sea. They are overlain by relics of Lower Turonian claystones with abundant oyster fauna. Phosphatic duricrusts on the lydite surface are also interesting. A sedimentologically important locality.
