Geology

Short characteristics of the site: An erosional gorge showing a complete section of Cretaceous sediments of the Džbán type. Large outcrops of sandy marlstone in the upper parts of the section belong to the Bílá hora Formation¨(Turonian), sandstones in the lower part to the Peruc-Korycany Formation (Cenomanian). A stratigraphically and sedimenologically significant locality.
