Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Group of abandoned quarries where roofing slates were exploited. The slates are slightly schistose with a parallel foliation. Crenulation is distinct. Some interlayers of metadiabases and their tuffs were found. Active quarry with a part of the section of roofing slates. Bedding coresponds with a schistosity. Ichnofossils occur which evidence a Phanerozoic age. Reference locality for the stratigraphical reconstruction of the Krkonoše-Jizera Crystalline.
