Geology

Short characteristics of the site: The spa in Prameny (Sangerberg), known as the Elizabeth Baths (Alžbětiny lázně), was built between 1872 and 1878. During this period, the main mineral springs were tapped and named after the children of Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elizabeth: Rudolf, Gisela, and Vincent. Each spring possessed a specific composition. These mineral waters have low mineralization, with a dissolved solids content of up to 1 g/l. They are associated with amphibolites and small serpentinite scales in the vicinity. They exhibit an elevated magnesium content, although the values are significantly lower compared to, for example, the Novoveská kyselka. The waters are gas-charged and contain elevated levels of iron, silicates, and other trace elements, classifying them as interesting mineral waters. The Rudolf and Gisela springs are the most mineralized. The Vincent, Nový lázeňský, and Baroch springs have lower total mineralization. There are also a number of mofettes in the area.
