Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
An extensive zone of rock outcrops, formed in places by fine to medium grained, partly porphyric gray-beige biotite granite of Krušné hory (Ore mountains) pluton, on an area of approximately 400x100 m. The rock formations were formed by weathering along the system of cracks and the removal of weathered material by rainfall and gravitational drift. The shapes are often sharp-edged, indicating that the proportion of chemical weathering here was lower than, for example, at the Kynžvartský kámen (ID 2356) or Medvědí kameny (ID 4460) outcrops near Lázně Kynžvart. This can be attributed to the dynamic relief in the vicinity of the rocks, where granite blocks are released relatively quickly during weathering and it is not enough to create chemical weathering phenomena such as rock bowls or pseudo-scraps on site. Below the outcrops are stone fields formed by scattered smaller boulders and granite fragments. About 300 m southwest of the edge of Javořina are the interesting mineral springs Radiovka and Nektar. The originally higher radioactivity of the water was reduced by increased pumping for commercial purposes between the First and Second World Wars. A historic, originally administrative building has been preserved by the springs to this day.
