Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
An outcrop of quartzites of the Senice Formation, representing metamorphosed siliciclastic Ordovician sediments. The rocks are light grey, medium-grained, and composed mainly of recrystallized quartz and muscovite. Relict bedding and a fine metamorphic foliation are locally preserved, reflecting regional metamorphism of original sandstones in the Železné hory Paleozoic domain.
