Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
The highest rock near the river consists of solid glassy fine grained spilit, in the upper parts of locality - there are outcrops with noticeable structures of pillow lavas (20 – 30 x 40 cm) with grey to grey-black rims, which are formed by chlorite (result of glass) - the evidence of rapid cooling of lava in contact with seawater. Some parts of rocks are covered with limonited coatings. The rocks are poor in vesicles, only rarely occur exists denser vesiculations. The beds of the spilits consist of lava flows which are tilted at an angle of 22 to 26 ° to the SE. The total thickness of the spilits is estimated at the first tens of meters.
