Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Type locality of the regional lithostratigraphic unit - litošické slepence (Litošice conglomerate). These are coarse-grained to block petromict conglomerates formed by rounded boulders, especially volcanic rocks, granitoids and, to a lesser extent, sedimentary rocks, which were derived from the underlying Proterorozoic. The Cambrian age of the conglomerates results from their close relation to the underlying volcanics, which were dated by the U-Pb method on zircons to 520 Ma.
