Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Bohemicum, magmatites. Large group of granite boulders formed by weathering and granite disintegration. This mechanism is also called loaf-like weathering. Biotite granites belong to the Čistá-Jesenice pluton. The largest of these boulders can be called balancing stones, two of them are called "Dědek- the Old Man" and "Bába - the Old woman" and are two largest balancing stones in the Czech Republic. Nearby Žihle Graben is filled by Carboniferous sediments.

Stratigraphy: Proterozoic
Subject: geomorphology, quaternary geology
Geological phenomenon: selective erosion
