Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
The early abandoned quarry in rocks of the Thaya Massif. In this quarry cleaved biotite granite occurs which passes to granitic biotite blastomylonite. The foliation planes are covered by streaks of muscovite with some biotite. The rock displays a mural jointing and is intensively weathered - kaolinized. Quartz occurs in recrystallized rubble, potassium feldspar forms phenocrysts in places as well as plagioklase. Epidotization is common proces. Numerous accessories are present, such as garnet (almandine), epidote and turmaline.
