Short characteristics of the site:
Old abandoned quarry exposing an Upper Cambrian intrusive rhyolite which cuts surrounding bodies of Neoproterozoic basalts (spilites). The rhyolite is made of fine grained, partly silicified matrix with quartz and feldspar phenocrysts.
