Geology

Short characteristics of the site: The porphyry vein within sedimentary sequence of Neoproterozoic rocks. This subvolcanic rock is formed by coarse grained porphyry with quartz and feldspar phenocrysts. Nearby carbonate water source can be found, which cements and cosolidates rhyolite scree. This locality situated in the Protected Landscape Area Křivoklátsko is recommnded for protection.
