Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
The limy water source. Quaternary calcareous tufa deposited on a tectonic contact between volcanics of the Křivoklát-Rokycany Complex and Neoproterozoic schists. The educational trail was founded in this area. The Křivoklát-Rokycany volcanics are represented by andesites, the Neoproterozoic sediments by schists and also a layer of black schists. Moreover, ten metres thick vein of pinkish porphyry can also be found. The water source is worth of mentioning, because sinter is deposited on noncarbonate substrate and no carbonate rocks can be found in vicinity.
