Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
The abandoned and flooded quarry exposes Culm greywackes alternating with conglomerates. The greywackes sometimes pass into subarkoses. Their matrix consists of clayey and sericite materials. In places it is chloritized and silicified. The conglomerates are petromictic with subrounded and subangular pebbles of volcanics and sedimenrts. Ignimbrite and spilite pebbles also occur. This locality belongs to the Znojmo Palaeozoic and margins of the Boskovice Graben.
