Geology

Short characteristics of the site: The abandoned quarry, overgrown and partly burried.The Korycany Beds of the Peruc-Korycany Formation are exposed there.On the base quartzose sandstones with gravel are present, overlain by glauconitic sandstones. Bioturbation is common as well as upward rising glaukonite admixture. The boundary with overlying Bílá Hora Formation is not visible. This formation is cropping out only in higher abandoned quarry. Its sandstones are fine grained, with glauconite and chert nodules in the uppermost parts.
