Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
The rocky escarp (ledge) along the Kamenice River cut. The rocks are represented by a paragneiss mainly with plagioklase, quartz and biotite. Common accessories such as apatite, zircon, titanite and ilmenite also appear. Bands of metaquartzitic gneisses with amphibole are frequent and their thickness is up to 20 cm. The pegmatite dykes are thicker (up to 40 cm) and are oriented paralelly with foliation of surrounding gneiss. On the nearby field oval boulders of calcalsilicate rocks can be found. This locality belongs to the Bohemian Moldanubicum Zone.
