Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
This locality is called "Dědkův mlýn - the Old Man´s Mill". 250 m long section follows a road cut. Alternation of schists, phylites, greywackes, metagreywackes, siltstones and metasiltstones is exposed. This represents a typical sequence of Neoproterozoic Barrandian deposits. The clayey sediments are variably metamorphosed, in places up to phylites. Recrystallisation of clay matrix is intensive in places. Chlorite and sericite accompany such recrystallisation.
The rock sequence belongs to the Kralupy-Zbraslav Group of the Barrandian Neoproterozoic. At a margin of this outcrop the sedimentary sequence is cut by thin vein of lamprophyre.
