Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
This locality is called "Vysoký vrch - the High Hill". It is formed of rocky ridge as long as 500 metres and 100 - 200 metres broad. This ridge is morphologically differentiated into numerous cliffs. This rock is a typical silicite, called also "lydite -buližník". The rock is intensively fractured and rocky cliffs rimmed by heaps of silicite blocks as large as 4 metres across. This silicite is often banded and its surface covered by films of limonite and haematite. Its groud mass consists of fine grained quartz with occassional muscovite. The rock belongs to the volcanosedimentary sequence of the Blovice Formation belonging to the Kralupy-Zbraslav Group of Neoproterozoic age. The locality is situated in the Protected Landscape Area.
