Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
This locality occurs at a hill slope overlooking a valley of the Svratka River. Two quite different geological formations are present: The Bíteš Orthogneiss and the Balin Conglomerate. Their contact is tectonic, but not exposed. The Bíteš orthogneiss is of two-mica character with feldspar porphyroblasts. The conglomerates are fine- up to medium grained, unsorted, with clasts of crystalline limestone, phyllite and gneiss. Geologically this outcrop belongs to the Boskovice Graben structure.
