Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Partly active quarry, the lowermost level of which is covered by a municipal refuse. The upper part of the quarry wall shows a tectonic contact of paragneisses with granites. The granite is of muscovite-biotite charatcre, while paragneisses are biotitic. Process, called the magmatic stoping, can be observed there.The overlying biotite paragneiss displays a plane metamorphic foliation.In the gneisses pseudomorphoses of muscovite after cordoerite and kyanite can be seen. This localit bylongs to the Moldanubicum of the Šumava Mts.
