Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Tht outcrop shows a tectonic contact between felsitic granodiorite and granulitic gneiss. In the granulitic gneiss the retrograde metamorphic foliation prevails together with a syntectonic disintegration of a garnet . into biotite and kyanite into sillimanite. The granitic gneiss is banded and less compact. Its main rock forming mnerals are represented by quartz, feldspar, biotite and garnet. The outcrop belongs to the Moldanubicum Zone of Šumava Mts. and South Bohemia.
