Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
The natural outcrop of a tabular body of erlan gneiss and biotite paragneiss. This rock belongs to the Český Krumlov Varied Group paragneiss. In these rocks there are calcareous layers and in the surroundings blocks of pegmatite and aplite. They are rich in diopside. The plagioklase, potassium feldspar, and pyroxene represent main rock forming minerals. Flat metamorphic foliation is observable on the outcrop. Paralelly oriented quartz dyke often forms boudins.
