Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
The granite rock in a ridge (Jizerský hřeben - the Jizera River Ridge). This special rock type can be characterized as a biotite granite with porphyric texture. It is classified as the "Jizera River Type". Its groundmass consists of quartz, potassium feldspar, plagioklase and biotite. Rare potassium feldspars phenocrysts are also present. Biotite is sometimes grouped into dark schliers. The rock is full of thin fractures of exfoliation type. The locality is interesting from the viewpoint of geomorphology. For instance rocky window can be also seen. The locality belongs to the Krkonoše-Jizera Massif.
