Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
This locality occurs at the eastern margin of the Železné hory Proterozoic which consists of fine grained biotite paragneisses and amphibolites. Intensive tectonic movements affected an onset of uranium mineralization. It was surveyd in sixties of the last century by drill holes having reached the depths of 650 m, and later by a system of horizontal adits 3665 m long. Near the land surface in a quarry 7000 cubic metres of uranium ore was worked out. Later, mining works were stopped, the shaft closed and handed over to private company which tried to utilize it for a production of geothermal energy.
