Geology

Short characteristics of the site: This locality displays a block field and small outcrops. The rock can be classified as fine grained two-mica granite of the Proterozoic Chvaletice Massif. Frost weathering was active in disintegration and rounding of granite blocks. In some places instead of sharp edged cliffs rounding off their edges was realized. Such groups of blocks are called "Obří postele - the Giant Bedsteads".This locality belongs to the National Geopark "Železné hory - the Iron Mts.".
