Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
The abandoned quarry with amphibolite metagabbro up to the ultramafic rocks of metadiorite zone of the Brno Massif. The ultramafic rocks form bodies inside gabbro up to several dozens of metres in size. The ultramafic rocks contain minerals of serpentine group, chlorite, talk and actinolite. Also younger hydrothermal veins are present with calcite, quartz and turmaline.The rocks are of Proterozoic age and belong to Brunovistulicum Zone. This quarry will be changed into a building plot soon and so will be inaccessible.
