Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
This locality occurs at a southern margin of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin. The old quarry exposes sediments of the Peruc-Korycany Formation (Cenomanian). The sediments are represented by calcareous sandstones, coarse grained glauconitic sandstones and clayey sandstones with shed coal. Some sedimentary layers are rich in ichnofossils. This locality belongs to the National Geopark "Železné hory - the Iron Mountains".
