Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
This locality embraces several old abandoned quarries where quartzites were exploited utilized also for grinders (millstones) production. Quartzites also represented useful building materials. The educational trail was arranged in this area in order to follow the history of stone exploiting. The quartzites, conglomerates and siltstones belong to the Lipoltice Formation of the Lower Ordovician age. The locality belongs to the National Geopark "Železné hory - the Iron Mts.".
