Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
This locality occurs at the eastern margin of the Železné hory Proterozoic area. The sedimentary complex consists of clayey shales, phyllitized schists and clayey graphitic shales. Some shales are intensively pyritized. Moreover the locality embraces granodiorite and biotite migmatite. Tectonic processes affected veiny uranium mineralization which was surveyd in sixties of the 20th century. Later, between 1968 and 1982 deep mining was realized. The mining was finished, mines have been flooded, one of several shafts has been preserved for enabling outflow of mine waters to be decontaminated. This locality belongs to the National Geopark "Želtzné hory - theˇIron Mouintains".
