Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Krkonošed-Jizera Crystalline. The Smrk Mt., the highest summit in the Jizera Mts. On its summit and slopes they are numerous natural outcrops and blocks of the Jizera orthogneiss. This orthogneiss is medium- up to coarse-grained with biotite and muscovite. Locally large feldspar porphyroclasts can be found. This area is of long-termed strategic position due to its crossroad location between Bohemia, Poland and Silesia. Part of the Protected Landscape Area.
