Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Moldanubicum, Šumava Mts. Outcrop on a steep slope over the Zdíkov Brook. This rocky cliff consists of light grey densely banded quartzitic erlan looking as a metaquartzite or quartzitic gneiss. This rock is foliated and fractured, its texture is granoblastic. Among rock forming minerals calcite dominates accompanied by quartz, feldspars and clinopyroxene. Some bands are enriched in sphene, graphite and secondary actinolite. This rock is penetrated by 7 m thick leucocratic muscovite granite with potassium feldspar phenocrysts. Petrology of the two mentioned rock was studied in detail as well as their magnetic susceptibility and radioactivity.
