Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Moravicum, Proterozoic up to Palaeozoic outcrops along the Dyje River bank. They consist of leucocratic two-mica augenorthogneiss (the Bíteš Gneiss) with interlayers of amphibolite and vein quartz. Step-like slopes with rocky faces and frost cliffs. Rock waste and block fields are common. Also interesting mesorelief forms. This locality belongs to the National Park Podyjí.
