Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Bohemian Cretaceous Basin, Permian. Outcrops of calcareous silty claystones with some interlayers of sandstones and fossiliferous limestones. They are greyish, slightly bituminous. The best Permian paleontological locality in this area. Within these lacustrine sediments also thin silicite layers can be found together with volcaniclastic rhyolite deposits. 15 - 20 m thick sequence of greyish siltstones is called Kalná Horizon.
