Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Up to 10 m thick turbidite sandstone banks exposed in the abandoned quarries enclose the spherical sandstone bodies up to 2 m in diameter. They are product of diagenesis and can be classified as concretions. The sandstones are part of Paleocene Soláň Formation (Rača Unit of the Magura Group of Nappes). This locality is situated in the Protected Landscape Area Beskydy.
