Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Outcropping rhyolite of Vraní hory (Nowa Ruda Mb., Autunian). Massive, fine-grained quartz rhyolite with rare K-feldspar phenocrysts (2 mm). Microscopy description: fine-grained(0,01–025 mm), slightly porphyric rhyolite with 1–2 mm coroded plagioclases (oligoclase–andesine), containing laminar cavities filled by K-feldspar, kaolinite and quartz.In rare cases, phenocrysts are represented by orthoclase or sanidine and pyroxene pseudomorph (hematite, magnetite) are present. Poikilitic matrix consists of K-feldspar, plagioclase and quartz. Accesoric minerals: magnetite, hematite, secondary kaolinite, illite and chlorite.
