Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Tertiary relics in the Bohemian Massif. Sand and gravel pit, abandoned, exposing sands and gravels of Neogene age. Sands of greywacke composition, with quartz, feldspar and rock fragmnent clasts and great amnount of clay. Layers of gravel, distinct oblique bedding. Important locality showing sedimentary structures of Neogene clastics. Interesting imbrication of clasts.
