Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Brno Massif, metabasite zone. Abandoned quarry exhibiting chloritized and epidotized metabasalts. They are massive, but abundant tectonic disturbances changed them into greenschists. In metabasalts thin veins can be seen which contain some chalcopyrite and malachite. In southern quarry parts whitish rocks crop out which can be classified as tuffs of rhyolite composition. Intensive tectonics with fractures of different orientation dominate this locality. Limonitization is associated with fractures.
