Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Barrandian, Middle Cambrian. Old and classic outcrop of Skryje Shale, described and evaluated already by Joachim Barrande. These clayey shales are greenish up to greyish, often with limonite film. They yielded rich association of fossils, mainly brachipods, trilobites, echinoids, etc. Unfortunately, this locality, in spite of its stratigtraphic and paleontologic importance, is badly preserved, covered by scree and loam.
