Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Barrandian Lower Palaezoic, Cambrian. Artificial exposure in place of old quarry exhibiting basal Cambrian sediments. This section starts with Mileč sandstone and conglomerate. Upper part of this section consists of finer grained sandstones with common brachiopod "Orthis". That is why they were formerly called "the Orthis sandstone". They are erosionally separated from overlying petromictic conglomerates - the Týřovice Conglomerate, consisting mainly of greywacke, spilite anhd lydite pebbles. This section belongs to standard and classic ones in the Skryje-Týřovice Cambrian.
