Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
The abandoned quarry exposing Late Carboniferous sediments of the Slaný Beds. They consist of obliquely bedded layers of arkoses, subarkoses and arkosic sandstones with some interlayers of quartzose sandstones. Erosional features can be observed within groups of beds. Described sediments have been deposited in deltaic and lacustrine environments. This locality belongs to the Central European and West European Permocarboniferous limnic basins.
