Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Bohemian Cretaceous Basin. So called Hrubá skála sandstones of the Teplice Formation. Different types of sedimentary structures can be observed, mainly current bedding which indicates deltaic sedimentary environment. Also typical shallow water structures of tempestite depositional mechanism occur. Abundant body fossils and ichnofossils. Detailed analysis of sedimentary structures was published. This locality is situated in the Protected Landscape Area Český ráj - the Bohemian Paradise.
