Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Bohemian Cretaceous Basin. Abandoned quarry with a quarry wall 10 m high and 15 m broad. Quartzose sandstones of the Korycany Beds (Peruc-Korycany Formation) were exploited there. Sandstones are intensively weathered and partly covered by scree. Sandstones are granulometrically variable, from fine grained up to pebbly ones. They exhibit some microtectonic phenomena. This locality represents a marginal Cenomanian development of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin.
